I love the kind of childlike rain
that is tiptoeing up to the window
in hopes I will come out and play.
Should feel guilty about the clashing
fronts that sent you? Pain
and suffering they cause isn't lost
on me. It is just that there is only
so much happiness to go around.
Hours that sun or rain put a shine
on leaves and grass you cannot
believe. Perfume they spray!
Moping isn't going to help, is it?
Little I can do to help far-away
victims pick up the pieces. Hope
for them is a long-treasured photo
or a drink and a doughnut. Maybe
they'll find an appliance they can
fix, or that a portion of the roof
is salvageable. Can't bare to think
about the loved ones many have
lost. So sing your sweet song, Rain.
As soon as I put this machine
to sleep, I will be out. Save me
some puddles to splash in, 'k?

Wow. This is really talking to it. I like the way you formed your thoughts and feelings into a poem of this style, it sort of tells us something without imposing, just a flow of life...and the beauty of rain. Very nice.

The rain on a warm day can be really enjoyable and yea love running around barefoot out on my back deck too but when it is cold and windy like it's been here the last few days with an icy cold rain well...good day to curl up reading or writing a good book.
