This is what a defeated soul is like, with utter deconstruction of a confidence unmatched among fools, for the fool lies to himself, but believes it with all his heart.

Walk away. Leave it all in the hands of the monsters.
Sell everything you own. Move away to a foreign land.
Make a mockery of all you believe in. Leave all behind.
A systematic loss of hope is into daily doses delivered.

Chip away. Blast the conditions of the heart and mind.

Erode the stability of the resilient spirits that defy death.

Take momentous confidence and indefatigability away.

Turn the victorious heart into a laughing stock for fools.

Punishment for caring and believing rots the living soul.

Decaying. The beasts of fields devour the broken orbs.

Collapsed in a heap. Believe the fable not it is finished!

Cancelled my soul lies in despair. Finished. I am death.

That is a most profound piece of defeat that I've read in a very long time. It is interesting that some readers are taking it personally (for you). And your message leads me to believe that you have come very close to the "end." And by doing so, have insight into the process of dying.

While reading it reminded me to never get so desperate. I think it is much simpler to give what organs one has left to those needing them, and cut life off cleanly and less painfully, than letting it run its course until all resources and all strength is completely gone.

Sadly, I have to agree with you, Rockie. Each day seems to bring ever more disappointments. Love and peace to you,

From the author: This was written as expression of deep grief at having the curtain pulled down on some illusions of life, before I was ready to know those truths. I am OK and the writing is a catharsis for me. IT is the only way to fly!
