Today, I look through your eyes
and I can clearly see tomorrow
through your eyes, not mine
mine are old and unfocused
I have, perhaps, seen too much
mine, I am convinced, are overused
Your eyes are fresh and new
mine are long since out of warranty
Yours will record a New World
in the very moment of my passing
when traces of the old world
will be nothing more than threads;
slender tendrils to connect us
if you are then old enough to grieve
once you get beyond the tears
and the kissing of my cold hands
when you say your final good-byes
then the world will be refreshed
then the puzzle will reveal itself
and you will only remember my pride
"Through Your Eyes" Amor what an honor it was to partake! Thank you for sharing this poetry which is clearly a work from your heart. I find writing from the heart is spiritually, and emotionally cleasing(renewing)!
The Parent's dread lies in the sights may not be better than Our own, but does it matter so much; life should be rich and equal, Past and Future, a joy in the living. lgl
beautiful and profound. It reminds me of a line from a sydney sheldon novel; "Our children do not inherit the world--we borrow it from them." keep up the good work, my friend.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww! I wanna hold him. Babies do wonderous things for our souls don't they! His little chocolate eyes and that little face :`).... he's a lady killer already!!! WAHT a DOLL BABY! The most important thing in my life is being a mother. That pride NEVER diminishes. How profound this really is! When he grows up, he will have this. Oh, the poem just pulls at a million and one heart strings by the way :) What a father!
What a sweet, sweet baby. I am missing that age. I want to pick him up right out of the picture. Enjoy him every minute you can, because he will grow fast...too fast. I know you and Gigi just eat him up...sigh.
