I walk out of the hospital feeling
lost and so alone.
A horrible accident stole my past-
My memory gone.

I feel like a man just born
yesterday-
With everything from my past
just wiped away.

Who is this lady with her
arms wrapped around me?
She say's she's my sister-
But a strangers all I see!

I am confused and silent- thoughts
running thru my mind-
Was I a good person - was I
happy..was I kind?

My memory is locked in a prison-
the bar's shut tight.
Nothing is familiar to me-
Nothing feels right!

Lord, help me understand-
Lord, help me see-
Why this had to happen ...why
did it happen to me?

I look all around ....there are
strangers every where-
Does anyone know what I'm feeling
inside? Does anyone care?

No one can understand what I have
buried inside-
When my memories left- a part
of me died!

Hands reaching out to me - shaking
my hand-
I'm screaming inside -
No one understands!!

I look in the mirror and what do
I see -
The eye's of a stranger staring
back at me!
