Poem Artwork

In this vast world we live in
Will we ever know
Is it fate or destiny
That holds us in its flow
Do the stars tell us how to act
Control the way we feel
Are we just puppets on a string
Not realizing what is real

In this vast world we live in
Will we ever know
The mysteries of life and death
Are what they will bestow
Is there a Heaven and a Hell
Are do we create our own
If life comes with instructions
Why aren't we ever shown

In this vast world we live in
Will we ever know
The magic of the universe
Or how the stars glow
Are the chapters of our lives
Already written down
Is there nothing we can do
To turn it all around

Does happiness and pain
Lay in our own hand
Is life of our own making
Help me to understand

The border between myth and history isn't as shapr as officially approved, self appointed science wants us to believe. In our past beyond (further back in time) the records common (wo)man is allowed to study and build his / her views on, lie hidden truths that give us a more accurate account of how we came to be, who we really are and what future may have in store for us (which is impossible to do with the information generally past on). A good starting point you may find here: http://www.ancienttexts.org/library/mesopotamian/index.html
Gather keywords and expand your exploration. You will be amazed. Take care,

Though you don't post often when you do it is well worth waiting for my friend. This poem looks at the world and questions the validity of what we are taught by church and state and says "What if?". It asks the questions some are afraid to ask and leaves the reader thinking which is what a great philosphy Poem should.

since man was made for god to observe himself, i would assume everything has the potential to move within our hands ...

superbly crafted poem with a highly developed portanse of conjecture ...

I know that we cannot change the past; but the future is still waiting for us to create and learn.

A thought-provoking write, Linda! Welcome back!

The universe we live in is always churning our minds about the life and death and the other world after death and rebirth. creation and recreation are very much done by us and the brooding about after death lands us no where. Nice write dear Linda!
