On the edge of town a baby is born
Do you hear its cry
While in another city cancer wins
Another statistic had to die
A broken man in the street
Cold and all alone
While I lay in my nice warm bed
In my modern home
Kids lay starving in the streets
Amid destruction and tears
When food is being thrown away
And yet, no one cares
And the world moves on....
A little boy locked in a closet
Beaten and abused
It was in the local paper and
On the six o'clock news
Another child is tucked in bed
Kisses every day
No dark closets in his mind
Or tormented yesterdays
Who can stop the crying of the
children of this world
Who can erase the scars of
A frightened little girl
And the world moves on...
A cheap bottle of whiskey
He clutches in his hand
Faceless people pass him by
No one understands
A man in a business suit looks
The other way
Thinking of a meeting that is
scheduled for today
In another part of the city a
Young woman takes her life
Blood flowing to the floor
Misery ended by a knife
Oh Linda too much of this is happening everyday and so much more as people are stressed out with Christmas so near, it breaks my heart so. Thank you for sharing.
