The Little Things

Watching the butterflies as they
flutter on by-
Rocking a baby so that it
won't cry.
Coffee , steaming, poured
in a cup-
Hugging a neighbor when-
cheering them up.
These are the little things
that are free-
Don't cost a thing - for
you are me.

A flower blowing in a warm
summer breeze-
A clear blue sky - a
child saying please.
So many things that
come our way-
We take for granted
every day.
The little things - they
mean so much-
A special look - a
tender touch...

Don't your friend need a
little help from you?
And your neighbor across the
way - he needs you too!
There's a little child some
where cryin'-
An aching heart who's
soul is dyin'.
Reach out your hand-
hold them near-
Show them that some
body CARES!

So many things that
come our way-
We take for granted
every day................

to write a HAPPY poem. You know

I love standing in wide-open fields and just watching things happen. Birds, insects, plants and animals make up a richly interwoven drama. This poem brings back good feelings. Thank you.

I think this is very good it shows you have an unlimited love of people. you always write close to the heart. Pay no attention to to that man behind the curtain Named Bill
It is clear to see he was not brought up with the adage that if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all

Subterfuge does not work for you. He will do a good job I know it, if the one who one who utters 'honey' to you under the guise of control lets you alone. You could have shared with me and chose not to. That is your decision. The poetry is happy but it is a forced happiness that is not heart felt. Go your way now and be happy. Goodbye. Bill

Miss Linda, This reminded me of my Grandmother. We always had to eat buffet style, because there was so much food and so many strangers dining.I later learned they were nieghbors and many others worked for the parish. I ate with everyone from public office to road crews. I later cooked for them. My Granmother had an open door policy. If their is anything else I have to say about her, well you already did in your poem.
