Where two hearts beat as one
Now one struggles on its on
So empty inside, just a shell
All joy inside is gone
How can the wind still blow
Or the autumn leaves fall

Linda a great write and when my mother died all those years ago, it seemed as if someone snatched my heart from within in. Her love was unconditional and constant. The gratest love in the universe is from God and His love I still try to comprehend and next to His love is our life time companions. So my heart goes out to J. Allen and my prayers ever before him. Tears of both sadness and joy filled my heart...yes the beach was our favorite spot...Tybee Island as a matter of fact...when I read those lines; I was there. I could feel her and I knew...Oh God I knew. It is true that only a few know how broken my spirit is. The hurt cannot be described....but your words put me on that beach...I just want to hold her hand again...we always held hands wherever we went even after all these years...sometimes I feel so lost and out of place...until one loses a spouse in the way I lost Leah...they will never truly know the entire depth of this pain...maybe I don't know, but maybe it is because we held hands even after all these years; maybe it is because I loved her soo deeply; maybe it is because I am weak...maybe its all of the above...but do know this...your poem put me with her for a little while...GOD BLESS YOU.
