Miracles We Take For Granted

I've heard people say
God don't perform miracles anymore
That He don't care for us
Like He did before
When I awoke this morning
I was able to get out of bed
I had a mind to give thanks
Plan my day ahead
So many didn't wake up
Tomorrow is no guarantee
If God opened your eyes this morning
Thats a miracle to me

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

When I look out my window
I thank God for my sight
There are many who cannot see
A world with no glimmer of light
I thank Him for each footstep
For that means I can walk
I can breathe, I can laugh
God gives me the ability to talk
Some have their eyes wide open
And still they don't see
That all these things we take for granted
Are all miracles to me

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><

There are many in hospitals
Who have to be tube fed
They lay there day after day
They can't get out of bed
God's given me the strength
To eat the foods I love
To have a roof over my head
Is a blessing from above
I don't take anything for granted
A flower, a sunset, a tree
All these things God freely gives us
Are all miracles to me

Yes, you are right Linda. God performs miracles every day in our lives. Many are so blind that they cannot see them or take for granted the wonders of God. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem and may you continue to be blessed with the miracles God performs everyday.

You rae so right. Many should loook at the little things in daily life. Each day the sun roses or we live, is a miracle in its self....Great poem.........M

Beautifully said. Reminds me of a temper tantrum I had recently, Linda. I told my hubby that I'm sick to death of only having the basics to be thankful for. We have had severe bad luck for several years now. Nothing good has happened to us or anyone in our circle. Your poem puts me back into the frame of mind I had before my explosion. Great timing and my thanks:)

Thank you for this Linda. I too, know first hand that God still does indeed perform miracles. From great ones to small ones every day. God bless.

Linda I love your writings and I love your trail of thought as too many take all this for granted as though they have the right to these gifts and no on can take them away, well they best think again of these miracles that come into their lives each and everyday. Thank you for reminding them Linda.

A great poem Linda - The miracles of life -

However. there is one part of me that thinks like Karen Lynn Vidra when she asks 'where is her miracle'

If one gives God the credit for all the good things in life then one surely would have to give HIM credit for all the bad things that happen to good people -

Life is not at all Fair. . .

Linda this is your best work ever. What it tells me is that you have a right attitude towards God and His Word: Believe me SISTER this is what God requires to communicate with Him. The whole commonwealth of heaven is at your disposal as God opens up the Windows of heaven for You. Thank you for your trust, love, belief, and spirituallity in God's Word now receive the blessing. A magnificent write of wisdom.

You're right Linda. We do take so many things for granted. Sometimes life can be very tough and instead of thanking God for all our blessings, we ask "why has this happened to me?" Writers like you who recognize their blessings and bring them to the forefront through their words are what keeps us balanced in the face of life's struggles. Keep up your good work and continue to share your sensitivity.

LINDA, how I can relate to this poem! After brain surgery, the doctor said I should have been blind, or paralized! But God had something else in mind for me.I have been made whole, I live a very thankful life. Randy

That you have a life...that's a miracle, saying no to that is like saying that everything is just a coincidence.
