This is based on a true story. A friend of a friend of mine shot and killed herself last night. How sad. How terribly sad anyone could be so low in their minds they could do this. This pain is real and her family is feeling it. May the Lord in His goodness and mercy be with her soul and this family.

Poem Artwork

Sun rays burst through the window
On a cold coffee cup from yesterday
Everything seems the same
But looks can be deceiving so they say
A half burned cigarette
A crossword puzzle lying on the floor
A TV blaring in the living room
That you won't be watching anymore

You must have felt so alone
I'll never understand your pain
Did you not realize
The life you lived was not in vain
So many people loved you
I wonder how you could not see
That this was NOT the answer
Or just how final this would be

So many problems in your life
I guess they finally took its toll
You went into your bedroom
Quietly shut the door I was told
Soon there was a gun shot
The bullet had pierced your head
No one could save you
As you lay bleeding on your bed

Sun rays burst through the window
On a cold coffee cup from yesterday
Everything seems the same
But looks can be deceiving so they say
A half burned cigarette
A crossword puzzle lying on the floor
A TV blaring in the living room
That you won't be watching anymore...

YES...SO VERY SAD, INDEED, LINDA. I PRAY THAT BEFORE SHE DREW HER VERY LAST BREATH...SHE MADE PEACE WITH HER MAKER. MY FATHER ALWAYS SAID...'NO ONE BUT JESUS KNOWS WHAT TOOK PLACE...BETWEEN THE STRIPPUP AND THE SOD' THANKS FOR SHARING AND I HOPE THIS FAMILY IS COPING WITH THE LOST OF HER AS BEST AS THEY CAN. GOD BLESS. LOVE,
JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Very sad. Interesting how you wrote this TO her, instead of about her or in her honor. That was a nice touch, Linda. That level of intimacy made her choice feel even more tragic, because it shows how she hurts those she left behind.

Linda this is devastating but a well written poem! You have my deepest condolences and I sincerely bare and feel your pain! I am in prayer as we speak for the family and you. Christmas is a joyous time of the year no matter how unfulfilling our lives may be.If we are truly frinds we must stay in contact with one another, we are family. God bless, trust Him, stay free. Peace!!!

Linda, What a poem! I feel for the family.
I have been that low before but I would NEVER committ suicide.
Life is good. Maybe I could have taught her that.
I am having radiation on January 15th. Say a prayer for me
that day if you would.
Love, Becca

I'm so sorry, it's so tragic. I know this feeling as I had an uncle who took his own life. My prayers go out to the family and friends of this lady. May God bless you every day of your life.

There is such blindness in despair.
Any friend of yours should see their good fortune.
Your heart lets us see even the saddest of things through a beautiful window.
Best wishes as you deal with the wreckage.
So sorry to hear of such things.
