In my own corner of the world
The clock ticks on and on
I wonder of the wasted hours
That are so quickly gone
The moments that are lost to us
That will never come again
The days we sit and wonder of
What might of been
In my own corner of the world
Darkness starts to fall
My nieghbor is sick in bed
But no time to call
Another moment lost that
I can never retrieve
While the clock ticks on
With no reprieve
In my own corner of the world
Sadness calls to me
So many people are in pain
So many lonely
I wish I could hug the world
Make it a much better place
But time keeps moving on
And I can't win the race...
Linda, I understand completely, because I have the same feelings. The compassion, I believe, is from God, but what about the guilt that plagues us when we can't help everyone who is needy? We just can't do all that we would like to.
One thing that helps is when I am concerned about someone and can't fit it in, to pray for the person instead. Sometimes the fretting about it so overwhelms my mind that I never think about the need to pray for him.
I think we need to ask God to give us wisdom to know when we can give physical help and encouragement, and when we need to keep our priorities in order, and just pray for the person. Then we can rest in the knowledge that we have sought God's guidance and we are doing what He asks of us. After all, He is able to send others when we can't personally help.I hope these thoughts are helpful.

A very sensitive and moving poem full of the love which motivated our Savior to come to Earth and set His face as flint for Calvary. Linda, you have chosen just the right words to express your heart's yearning!
May this poem reach every corner of the world, and be used of God, to redeem the time!
That is a recurring theme in life where we are lost between the ticking of a clock and its relentless rhythm leaving so many precious moments behind. Excellent work, Linda
This poem comes at a time of the year, that with the hustle and bustle we often feel overwhelmed by it all but...
if we each reached out even with a smile, a helping hand, a kind word or a phone call just think how all those little corners of t he world wouldn't seem so far apart.

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Insightful and meaningful message of not letting time become a regretful dearth of wasted living.
