Slow Down And Wait For Me

Looking out the window
hoping to see
Just a glimpse of you
looking back at me.
I'm just fourteen, I don't
know much about love
But I stand here and gaze
from my window up above.
I wait for you to come out
but you don't know
That I fell in love with you

I watch you go with other girls
My tears drop on the window ceil
You look so happy with them
While I can't tell you how I feel.
Would you laugh if I said I
dream of you at night?
Wanting you to kiss me
in the pale moonlight.
You treat me like a kid sister
Not the woman I want to be
Don't try to grow up so fast
Slow down and wait for me.

When I was in the first grade
I followed you around
I'd tip toe behind you and
never make a sound.
You were always there
if anyone bothered me
Now that you've grown up
you're just to blind to see.
This little girl really loves you
but no one understands
As I stare out the window hoping
for just a wave of your hand.

You treat me like a kid sister
Not the woman I want to be
Don't try to grow up so fast
Slow down and wait for me.....

Young teenage love can seem sooo real to them.
While and older boy may seem the ultimate , time will tell . Your teen years are so important. You have plenty of time to fall in love. Enjoy your teen years and when it happens you will know. Don't rush it....

For those who truly love, time is eternity.
Your poetry speaks with wisdom and such profoundness, as Teen suicides are climbing every year, your heart will touch them with life til tomorrow. Maybe you should share this at BOLT.COM, there’s a lot of teens there that really need a role model like you, someone with real true character that cares about them.
Annie, the musical?
It’s a hard knock life for us, it’s a hard knock life for us, we work and sweat all day, and we never get to play, it’s a hard knock life!

Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow, don’t stop it will soon be here, for it’ll be here better than before, yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone!

The sun will come out, tomorrow, so you got to hang on til tomorrow, they’ll be sun.
Just thinking about tomorrow, so you bet your DOLLAR that tomorrow then will come, tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, it’s only a day away!

How oddly true it is that so often what we really seek is right before us. Yet we have become so used to see it every day that we are blind to how perfect it really is. Great write.

Your photograph was beautiful. I hope I find a home such as that one day!

The poem had me so engrossed I didn't even hear the melody behind it. So sweet and so cute, but not cute like teddy bears, cute like, understanding ;) I love your poetry Linda!

Happy New Year!!
