This place don't look the
Same anymore
Not since she just
Walked out the door.
Says she don't want
A cripple like me
I walk with a cane and
I can hardly see.
Kinda hard for an old man
To be all alone
Wife left and the kids , they
Are gone.
Is this what's left of
The life I've led?
Will anyone cry when
I am dead?
No one to care for and
Old man like me
I loved my wife, but
Now she's history.
Loneliness surrounds me
I don't want to go on
With all joy of living
Silently gone.
Says she don't want
A cripple like me
I walk with a cane and
I can hardly see.....
Some see and old man in the street..sitting lonely and afraid. I see inside...I see the man he used to be wanting to get out. I see the lonely in his tired eyes and the need in his heart for one tender touch or someone to just care. Maybe even one geniune smile is all he needs at the moment. One caring hand to dry that tear. Lets not always look at the outside...but look at the heart...the soul within.

Yes Linda, you surely care and show this caring in your beautiful poetry. I am so proud of you when you tackle the problems of others like this. You are at you poetic best then. Such a good wonderful Lady who writes from the heart. And thank you dear for reading my work. Love from California.
