Poem Artwork

Fifteen minutes to midnight
Time marches on
This is something I must
Go through alone
My heart beats faster in
Its fear
I've never cried, but I
Feel a tear
There is a horror down deep
In my soul
As death draws near
My blood runs cold

Ten minutes to midnight
Wish there was a way
To stop this clock
But I must pay
The world will still
Go on as before
Not much will change
'Cept I won't be here no more
I never had much of a life
It won't be much lost
In anger I murdered a man
Now I pay the cost

One minute to midnight...
And all is still
Soon they will come
This don't seem real
I want to run
Get out of here
I'm in a pit of
Pain and fear
Swirling down in the
Darkness I fall
As I hear the guards
Walking down the hall...

The was absolutely brilliant. I love how you dove into the mind of someone on deathrow cherishing his or her final moments. I felt the pain. A masterpiece at best!
By the way, we write similar. I honestly believe that you'll enjoy all my works.

Heartwrenching but all to real. All to often this is the way a life is ended. A chilling end to his life but, maybe peace for the family of the life he took? a great write.
