Sad and lonely in her room all alone
Not many visitors in the nursing home
Staff members busy rushing by
She wishes for someone to just say Hi
A few room's down a man mops the floor
He slowly makes his way to her door
He looks at the woman sitting there
And know's it's time for Shy Teddy Bear
Carefully he puts the puppet on his hand
Walks into her room quiet as he can
He whispers as he kneels on the rug
I'm Shy Teddy, May I give you a hug
The old woman's eyes shined with tears
As Shy Teddy hugged her, melting fears
She felt her loneliness drift away
She knew she could make it another day
With Teddy on his cart he walked tall
He came upon a little girl in the hall
Her tears fell as he sit by her side
A nurse whispered her Grandpa had died
I'm Shy Teddy, I don't have much to say
But I can dry your tears if I may
He wiped her little cheeks soft and dry
He gave her a hug, said please don't cry
Her smile was precious to Shy Teddy Bear
It was his only way of saying "I care"
In silence he'd spread his hugs around
Where ever a lonely heart could be found
He brings smiles to many who are in need
Walking the hall's planting love's seed
Don't be surprised one day you feel a tug
It'll be Shy Teddy Bear giving YOU a hug
Oh my gosh, Linda... this is so beautiful. Your heart shines in this.
Thank you,
Tami

A heart-warming poem about life's lonely and those who try to make it all better. I loved this poem, Linda.
Beautiful Linda, what a sweet and warm all over poem...It is a good reminder to us all. What we as human beings can do to put a smile back on the face of one in need. Goodness has a way of returning to those who give freely...and this is indeed what you do Linda...you spread warmth and goodness wherever you go....you are indeed an inspiration to all...for it is the kindness of the heart that allows the world to survive all of the heartaches that come our way...excellent write Linda...well done.
