I took this picture on Saturday past, the clouds were so angry and threatening...my muse gave me a powerful nudge....and Tempest was born...

Poem Artwork

Like a tempest brewing in a darkening sky,
Raw emotion raged inside of her.
Scorned, rejected, her warped mind simmered,
A volcano on the brink of eruption!
The best part of her, she gave to him,
Mental abuse was all he had to give!
Mind bruised and defeated, the time had come,
She would free her captive soul this night.
Lightening bathed the room in an eerie glow,
Setting the stage for the final act.
Clutching the knife, she raised it in the air,
As the steel blade found its mark!
She lay down beside him,
No beautiful memories flooding her mind,
As she drew her last breath!
And the tempest finally abated!

Suicide always is on the horizon. Especially when one is abused. Very sad poem but wonderfully written.

GOD BLESS YOU

As though the epilogue of a book, preceding pages must be read to fully understand. The tempest is in the woman's mind, of course, but then the lightening brightening the room. The picture your words draw for me: she killed her abuser, then herself.
Your friend, Mark

Stunning...strong write and giving a glimpse inside the mind and heart of an abuse victim...did not expect the ending though thought she would have stabbed him...
