I know every writer suffers from this afflication from time to time...giggle...I've been working on a couple of books I'm writing and don't write poetry (which I LOVE) every day like I used to....this morning when I sat down the blank page was like a raging blizzard I was lost in....found my way out though! Took this picture in Newfoundland in October 2010....awesome province....one of Canada's gems!

Bane of a Poet! Nothing on the page! Only a raging blizzard of white Without a trace of ink! No clever phrasing… Footprints left behind By elusive words Longing to be heard! The blissful oblivion Of the empty canvas Pulls me into a void… Of nothingness! But suddenly… My muse grows restless! Her voice soft, yet firm. She whispers in muted tones! Confused at first… I don’t recognize The language she speaks! Why doesn’t she just give up? Wait a minute! Words spilling onto the page now Like a crowd gathering Eagerly anticipating An important arrival! And the poet has been set free! © Annabel Sheila

Yes, Anna! I can relate and I am sure so many others can as well. I used to stress out about not being able to write something. Now, I just wait for inspiration and I find that all I have to do is write down what has been given to me. Mind you, that is probably why I don't write much.
