Memories are definately priceless, tomorrow I am going to share lunch with my two Newfie cousins, Rose of course from here on AD and our other Cousin from Nfld as well as two of my sisters. We never knew them a lot as children but I am glad we are now able to create some new memories as well as share some old.

And sometimes the memories come without prompting or though. My wife dead heading into eight years and no thoughts of things long past are surfacing. The memories are only of the good times.

A sweeet memory poem. I had to stop and think about this and realized that it is true, even the worse of memories can be a "gem" because remembering it leads to healing it.

A close friend just lost his father. I am seeing how memories burst upon him- and they are so beautiful- it really means his father is not gone.

A wonderful poem, Annabel! Now you have a new memory of meditating on the meaning and depth of "memories."
Richard's observation is true, but when unpleasant memories weigh us down, with God's help, we can re-focus our thoughts and rejoice in happier times.

Anna, I love this poem, though I would say that fortunate are those whose memories don't include one or two that cause moments of heavy heart from time to time.
