Spring Will Come

There's so much snow....nowhere left to put it...I went outside on Saturday and it took me 3 1/2 hours to dig a tunnel from the sidewalk to the curb....giggle...had a blast though. It was a sunny day and the wind wasn't too cold...

Poem Artwork

I dream of sunshine on my face,
A balmy breeze, a warm embrace!
Close my eyes; wish I were there,
Sounds of summer everywhere!
Hanging on by a silken thread,
Gloomy thoughts inside my head!
What to do? Where to go?
Around me all I see is snow!
January came and brought the blues,
But then that’s really nothing new!
I know Spring will come eventually,
But I wonder what’ll be left of me!

Snowball Hobbit Annabel
Winter season's just been hell
Dug a cave for her escape
I'd have stayed in and consumed the grape.

Wow! where do you live? in Alaska? I did not know there was so much snow in one place. And to think I mowed the lawn in a tshirt yesterday and enjoyed the hints of spring here with blossoms on the trees and 67 degree weather as I complained it was a bit chilly for me.

Aww, you'll make it, Anna, my friend. Anyone that hast the energy, ambition and the sense of humor needed to dig a tunnle such as you've dug, will certainly last through the balance of this really lousy (at least for you) winter.

I know Spring will come eventually

Hang in there. I never thought it would arrive, but the weatherman now says that we may hit 50 degrees this week - our two feet of snow is already melting away.

Anna, I moved away from that snow and crap twenty years ago, but I still think they should tear February and March right out of the calendar. That said, this was nicely written and I really like the rhythm of it.

Thanks Dick

I agree. I can't wait for the warmth to hit! My dogs are walking on top of the snowbanks like they're the coolest. I guess mini-Dachshunds like to feel tall every once in a while. lol.

Stunning photograph!
Gosh, we had a few weeks of it and it was awful.
Enjoy the day, don't wish time away.
Just nip to a sunny climate for a holiday.
Enjoy the thaw! What to do is a difficult question when you're trapped in such a climate. Keep dreaming of a white Easter! xx
