Daddy
Gone, but not Forgotten!
May 7, 2007
It seems like only yesterday
I saw you sitting there,
Working on your wheelchair,
Head slowly bald, no hair.
As I approach it seems okay,
You hardly know I'm there,
Expression in your stare
Shows now so little care.
I cannot keep the tears away,
For, Daddy, what we share
Is real, not gone--how dare
Life end up so unfair?
But then, within myself I say,
What Heaven holds is rare,
More than we can compare,
And now I know you're there!
Missing you, Daddy, with love!
Grief is not a friend
but it is a constant
Companion
