They came in the night
from some distant star
intent on conquest
these wizards of war
with rayguns and force-fields
and ionic cannon
and devices most sinister
no man could fathom.

New Jersey went first
and no one noticed.
New York, and Maine,
then Massachusetts.
The might of our nation
rolled in like thunder
but weapons most strange
made this a blunder.

The world watched in horror
lending moral support.
It seemed a sure thing
our time was short.
Then through the smoke
and haze of polution,
a giant of steel
raised a commotion.

For Mecha-man was back
from a well deserved vacation
intint of justice, on vengeance
for our battle-torn nation.
Through an ion barrage
and mighty force barriers,
the armored avenger
plunged like a terrier.

At the threshold of evil
He morphed his robo-kitty
to summon a power sword
resplendid with energy.
Spaceships exploded
as he carved them with glee
slashing and hacking
with no time for tea.

At last he was finished,
the death fleet was fallen.
Mecha-Man clumped homeward
elated but all-in.
He stopped for a burger,
shake, and some fries
and got them still warm,
at only half price.
