Cold--I rise--
through layers of darkness,
the weight of the sea,
above me--within me.
Small life darts by.
leaving a scent of terror
Do not fear--
you are too small
to ease the burden
of my hunger.
And I am so tired of sushi.

Blue arrives in ever brighter patches.
Light fans across my eyes.
I drift toward the surface--air!
I breath the salt winds,
letting them guide me to shore.

Men arrive with weapons
to defend the small
shattered boxes
I trample in passing.
Iron wings spit thunder and fire.
Girder towers crowned with wire
Kiss my skin with lightning.

I skreech defiance,
my breath is ice,
my hunger grows...
why so much bother
over take-out?
You'd think Tokyo
was closed.
