Pray we are alone in the universe, for in my dreams, I have seen the death of worlds in butterfly kisses.
Slashing across galactic cores... ripping through the dark matter hearts of nebula... chomping comets looping sunward... her iridescent wings are lit by the storms of ultimate void. Skimming the rings of Saturn, braving Jupiter's brazen eye, the fluttering blades of judgement spear past the guard of mars. And green Terra shines like a jewel to welcome the engine of her destruction. For the great destroyer seeks a place to nest and breed and rear her unborn brood. Beware the murderous beauty of the cosmic butterfly!

Excellent, Lee. I have often wondered what in the heck SETI has in mind, probing the universe for ET. Odds are, any life less intelligent than us will not be able to understand and respond. That leaves life of equal or more intelligence or technical advancement. Our own Earth history shows what happens when a more advanced culture encounters a less advanced one. If the less advanced culture is lucky, it gets absorbed into the more advanced culture. If not, it gets wiped out. This puts us in the position of a rabbit squealing to the coyotes for attention. Don't make sense to me.
