Dedicated to a special friend who was an author and encouraged me to publish. Steven Knutson a dear friend past away on December 4, 2009

Best of Friends

He was the best of friends,

Till the very end.

High School days were long past gone,

But we connected through classmates.com.

His emails were special like a friend from the past,

I knew our friendship rekindled would last.

We talked about old friends from our past,

He shared friend's photos when memories didn't last.

We talked about writing and publishing books,

He guided and encouraged me through beginner's nooks.

He sent me his manuscripts and his reviews.

I cherished the fact that he wanted my views.

A great person was he with humor galore,

Sometimes I wanted to roll on the floor.

When reading his book I remembered our youth,

Not many knew what it was like to grow up in Butte.

His descriptions were clear as if I was there,

I pictured it thoroughly and smelled the fresh air.

No other can replace his friendship with me,

For a special bond we had of our past don't you see?

He told me about his family,

And I always said say," Hi to Shirley for me."

My heart is broken at the loss of this friend,

But the friendship he gave me will help it to mend.

I will cherish his emails and guidance he gave.

Wishing that we had more time to be saved.

I know in our life we were blessed by this man,

We will remember him long as his books carry on.

So rejoice in his life that he lived to the best,

He's watching us all from heaven's gates where he rests.

Behind the Gates: Behind the Gates: A 1990s Hollywood Romantic Suspens by Lisa Maliga

The higher you go into the hills, the deeper the secrets... A seemingly innocent piece of mail shatters the illusion of Beverly Hills luxury, forcing a terrifying statement from a powerful action movie mogul: "they can't kill us fast enough."
