Time has slipped away into oblivion
From when I was loved and carefree
All I have now are sweet memories
Of times filled with happiness and desire
When neither of us could quench the fire
That flamed inside of us when we touched
.
There were special moments of peace
And tranquility that we both felt
When love had taken over our hearts and souls
We flew up into the heavens just like we had
The Wind beneath our wings
.
Now all is gone…shattered with jealousy and pain
I can never put my heart in your hands …
Nor trust you with it ever again
Too painful these memories I bare in my mind
Hoping that they will slip away after a time
.
No more can I feel your gentle touch
Nor smell the fragrance that you wore
You are slipping from my memory
As I change my life and open new doors
.

A seemingly sad experience that lingers. It reminds me of my poem "On Being Human". Human emotions are like a roller coaster ride with the ups and downs. However, I see strength in the sading with the opening of "new doors". John
