Lost Soul
I stumble in the darkness of your empty world
Observing as you weave your web of sadness
Watching you as you hopelessly hide
In the prairies, known for solitude
I am wondering whatever happened
To that man who had hopes and dreams
That man who found a ray of light
Amid even the darkest and most raging storms
I stagger, trying to see into the shadowed corners
Of your evasive consciousness, trying to understand
Disrobing the thoughts, you have clothed in black
As you dwell in the abyss of lost hope
I move my life into the light, praying that you will see
The beauty and hope that we once shared
Before life played it’s dirty tricks on our dreams
And faded to black all that we knew as sacred
Once your words opened the doors to the world
Your smile did awaken me from my darkest of moments
It was you who gave me hope and showed me the light
As we hid our dreams in a golden box for safe keeping
Now, I live from that box of golden dreams
Trying to bring back the rainbow light of our love
Searching for strength to pull you from your darkened corners
I find my center and my will, as I am reading your poetry

The hard part is making certain our beam never goes out. Hence, we encourage one another. And if we disagree on something, it's all a part of our fabric that we create for ourselves. But we can still encourage each other.

This is just another exceptional example of a wonderfully written poem meant to honor Mr. Haar's challenge. Very creative and intense. I am reading and enjoying your poetry.
Best of luck,
