The Arrangement

You say you want to love me
Take me as your wife
Well it’s got to be with heart and soul
And it’s got to be for life

I don’t need a handsome Romeo
Or a man with wealth to spare
I just need to know I’ll have respect
And that you always will be there

I don’t need a great big fancy house
Or a new car shiny red
Just a man with a heart of gold
And some brains inside his head

What really is important tho
Are gentle loving arms
A sense of humor, always fair
And some little subtle charms

And in return, I give my heart
And my soul complete to you
And if by chance I rock your world
Well, we’re even on that score too

I know I ask for quite a lot
And my expectations, high
But if I say “I DO” with you
I’ll be yours until I die

So right up front before we choose
I had to speak my mind
Make sure that things are very clear
So we don’t go into this blind

So if these things agree with you
And your offer does still stand
Then you can take your pretty ring
And slip it on my hand
