Summer hid a fearful soul

And what autumn concealed

Didn’t have the heart to show

The season lost brought you to me

We drifted into the endless flow

Of forgotten seasons

Daylight brought promises revealed

And the truths you could never really feel

Deep enough

Like an ocean tide

You took me for the river’s ride

Through forgotten seasons

Now what the morning sun embraces

Sheds awareness on familiar places

Gold in flight

Etched across wear faces

Cold and bright

Past forgotten seasons

Now, I can’t hold the night forever

We will have to face the light together

And things you won’t remember

Are the things I can’t forget

From the early snow in December

To the spring filled with regret

So, if you can stand to leave me

I can stand to see you go

Now the seasons that pass before me

Seems to pass too slow

And we can’t fill the space

Time left behind

Of the love lost in the afterglow
