You can feel the sadness from one brother to the other. It's a sad poem, but yet tells us of the human emotion between two brothers. The poem makes you want to reach out and help both of them.

Soldier's Gap is a non-traditional mystery with literary elements. The high school principal is brutally murdered, but Deputy Sheriff Dave Jenkins's search for meaning and love is a much more significant theme.
