“Poetry”
Poetry is writing about one’s feelings and experiences in their lives or what they have dreamed. It is a way to escape the perils of life and land oneself in a make believe world where you are the one in control. Poetry brings things alive with a stroke of a pen that brings emotions out of you that where hidden where no one could find them. Poetry is also an expression of love, death, happiness, sadness, and pursuit of happiness.

Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
What’s about me that intrigue you? Excite you?
It is my face, my hair, my eyes, or my hands?
It is the way I talk or the way I walk?
Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
What’s different about me?
That you’ve never known before?
It is the tone or the softness of my voice?
[2]It is the curves of my body?
Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
It is the way I feel and think about the universe,
Or the way I feel about you? Or how you feel about me?
Is it the way I laugh or cry with tears?
Is it the way I dance and move to the
Sound of a beat?
Look into my soul, and tell me what you see.
Look very closely, and tell me what you see.

Poems can make you happy or make you sad if it is a farewell to a love one of your past. Poems are beautiful, interesting, and versatile depending on where you come from and what your experiences are like. People from different cultural backgrounds can bring different meaning to poetry. Poetry can remain a mystery to the reader can prompt a memory from your past and direct you to your future. It gives you the opportunity to write down your feelings and experiences in a way that is powerful in depth and meaning.
