Awakening from my sleepless slumber, looking back at the illusions of my reality

I sit and wonder even with all of its validity, if that was really me

There is a light I have never seen before

A feeling I have never felt before

My past dismays have turned into a twinkling delight

Cutting through the dim light of night exposing me to the illusions of my fright

My spirit now realizes; there is nothing to fight

As if to be looking back at someone else’s life

I have been Reborn, cleansed, refreshed, awakened and new

So grateful for this wondrous, clear, illuminating view

Rinsed of all the pain and of the shame

Is it all the same?

Are we making it all up?

Are we asleep or awake?

Maybe yes, maybe no

The choice is mine to make

All of life is mine to take

Mine to give

And mine to live

There are no judgments to pass

No one else to ask

My search for peace is over and here at last

I have gratefully released the past

Now looking deeply into my own eyes, the truth is revealed

And my weary heart is healed

I marvel at the knowing

At the experience

At the contrast that my life has cast

Each day shining brighter and brighter

Each moment climbing higher and higher

Reaching for the passion that resides in my soul

The destiny that makes me whole

We are all one, this one fact I know

Together bound, forever holding on to the same rope

Forever giving each other hope

And the slumber I now take is my soul’s journey to help me grow

To keep me remembering and always know ~

I am my own keeper

I am the seeker of my own truth

And today I look to the heavens and know I am not alone

There are loving hands abound, patiently guiding me, watching me

Showing me the way home

The dark dirty veil of man made fear and dismay has been lifted

My conscious thinking has been shifted

I have awakened

Where I was once shaken, I now am sustained

Steadily growing in gleeful delight of my gain

I agree now with all of our amazing, unique differences

We are all the same

I can never go back

There is no lack

There are no limits

This life I call mine will only last a minute

And for that minute, I will be happy to be in it, joyful to live it

To always find my bliss

To hug and kiss

To touch and miss

And when it all boils down, it comes to this

I have awakened

And I am blessed

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
