Another Day

The night crept in
Flecks of loneliness spoke
Yesterdays regrets

I yawned at its reminder
Eyes veiled with sleep

Mindful moments
Have no need of
Reminiscence

Yet those times
Of anguish and torment
Vivid weight
Upon the shoulders

Make themselves known
Through trumpets and
Brass megaphones

Vision dimmed
As lids felt heavy
The wind pushed branches
Against the roof of my shelter

I wondered
About their movement
Even a small life
Can be rich with marvel

The past slithered away
As dreams came knocking
So light as to fly
So vibrant as to make
Me smile

Until my eyes opened
To find another day
