food for thought . . . !

Poem Artwork

a debt - as to get the wolves off your back

a fly - so that it can land on your potato salad

a galley - out of their prows

a gas - methane to destroy the ozone layer

a gun - bullets with two Kennedy's names on them

a liquid - to quench one's thirst

a patient - but not before they pay their bill

a person - their services so they can become unemployed

a president - so a new one can come in and clean up the mess

a relief - excess weight by distribution of pressure

a ship - Titanic and its' passengers into icy waters

a soldier - to say thanks for serving our nation

a song - your voice so the world will hear it

a storm - bolts of lightning that light up the night

a vent - because it isn't good to keep it inside.

Great write again Lance. One that sees much in the words you chose. Love the ending

a storm - bolts of lightning that light up the night

Great thoughts here. This poem seems to have a pessimistic tone beset by hope that some of this will come true and get us out of the mess we are in. A lot of reasons for pessimism lately. Liz
