Property in a frozen space
Adverse fortune or non-fate
Two by four parallelogram
All set in a calamitous event.
The flower had length and
width - frozen in time by the
cold's grip; aged like a man
of sixty winters; no mercy.
It's progress was obstructed
by the ice that clung to it
Then was thrown into Old
Man Winter's blender.
The flower was arrested, then
surrendered as it stood there
motionless, as motionless as
if it were in a Siberian morgue.
Whenever Spring would decide
to make its' return, it would be
too late to claim the flower's
body; would be sold for parts.
All the flower could hope for now
would be that a few of its' seeds
were evenly distributed by the wind
and would grow in a sunnier place.
