Touch Me…

Touch me love,
Let me feel if your love is real,
My world is soft and grey,
Muted tones that fade away,
When I draw near,
I need to know if I can still feel…

I am sleeping through life,
Numb and cold,
Too many winters are passing,
And I am feeling so old.

Just once I want to reach out,
And brush your hair from your eyes,
Touch your lips with mine,
Forget how quickly time flies!

I want to be lost in the moment,
Of loving you,
Make me young again!
I want to look in the mirror,
And watch the years fade away,
Live my life in a single day!

Touch me love,
Run your fingers over my lips,
Drink my soul until you are full,
Fill me with the love you say is real!

Touch me until I began to feel,
Autumn is here the leaves are dying,
Falling from the trees in soft waves,
As I am falling into my grave…

Catch me love,
Hold me in your arms,
Wake me from this despairing dream,
And help me live again!

You are only as old or as young as you feel and that
is the honest truth! I am testament to that fact!
I have lived a lifetime in the short 34 years I have been
on this planet. You can only imagine which I am sure you
have stories as well. Please look to the positive and
love yourself. It took me 34 years before I actually realized
I LOVE MYSELF! Then, I could allow my family to love me and I felt
stronger.
Excellent poem.
Love,

The passion of love dispels all fears and anxieties Retta..
We never grow old as long as we remember to keep on loving...

Wishful thinking, for sure. There is nothing wrong with wishful thinking, that is what wishes do, make you think. Even tho we cannot turn back one single day of our life, the passion of a lover can, and does, make us forget, for a fleeting moment, and that is good.

I want to be lost in the moment,
Of loving you,

A moment we all cherish, especially in the autumns of our lives.

A very powerful poem, Reindeer, and a truly awesome picture.

Retta, growing old is never thought of as sanctified, but it does seem to have it's advantages. We get to remember how wonderful it felt to be held close and loved.
He'll be there to catch you..and again you'll remember without fail his love for you.
Awesome write Retta!

Great moving expression Reatta, I felt each and every line as I read. Quite a few of us share these same feelings. Growing old brings wisdom and comfort if we are smart. The problem is, it's hard to be smart when your world seems to be crashing. We gain in some ways and lose in others. Life becomes a trade off of win and lose, lose and win. l&p G

Retta!
This one touched my soul... This one has a sting. Fabulous! It comes from the same place as my recent one 'All for Love' but the expression of the concept of emotional anaesthesia v's the vulnerability of feeling is expressed quite differently.

Thank you!

A wonderful September song. May your days be sweet and your Indian Summer long.

I miss Autumn, and have stolen your scene to remember it by.

May your love last until the winter comes.
