Shadows of things to come,
Of what things may be,
If we dare to dream-
We cast our nets into that sea of darkness,
Hoping to reel in hope and love,
How often our nets are empty,
Wet and dripping with the blood,
Of our efforts…
I wake and move through the day,
Like a shadow reflected against the night,
Hope a thin thread I hang on to,
Hope which binds my heart to life,
And my mind to dreams;
That perhaps one day,
I shall wake and see your smiling face,
Lying softly beside me…
In the cold of the night,
I call to you to come,
And listen for your footsteps,
Wait to feel your presence,
Feel your lips brush mine,
In loving greeting,
Wait for you to lay your warm body,
Next to mine…
Melt this frost from my heart love,
Make me believe in love again,
Let me wake this morning,
To your voice calling my name…
This hope alone gives me strength,
To breathe and live another day,
My life is lived for a dream,
I wait to come true …
Where there is life-there is always hope-and when accompanied by love and an indomitable spirit-there is always a way. If you cannot find love-then you can borrow mine for as long as you need it!!!
The only way to be truly happy is to chase your dreams with all your might.
A beautiful write!

Reindeer, as long as there is hope, there is always the chance for dreams to come true. A wonderful composition, Poet. Thanks for sharing it. Take care and be well.
A most captivating creation, Retta. It's odd. This is directly related to what I expressed in my blog yesterday. You really "bring it home." Thank you. Love and peace. Regis
