Flying overhead,
Looking down,
I see her white shoulders,
Capped in snow and misty eyed,
Wondering just what it is,
That draws me home…
The lovely trees,
So tall and bold,
Telling me stories,
Centuries old-
The long cold nights,
I spent alone,
Walking her paths
Of fallen stone…
Once she may have shook the night,
But now there is nothing to fight,
No warriors climb her mighty peaks,
Just travelers seeking a weary peace…
Here I was born,
And here I shall stay,
Find no reason to run away,
Though I leave to look around the bend,
I find my self back again,
To her harsh beauty I am drawn,
Watching the doe nurse her fawn,
Hearing the eagles scream in the sky,
Staring at the clouds with tears in my eyes…
My mountain shall ever be my home,
A part of my life to which I have grown,
So use to seeing and believing,
The beauty of her forests
She protects with her life,
Can’t even think of leaving…

Beautiful write Reindeer! Thanks for sharing your mountain, your treasure, your home. ~Joseph
I've been to the mountain
I've been to the sea
I've been to the desert
Their beauty to see
And if you were ask me
or to give me a test
I couldn't tell you
Which I loved best
For each has it charmes
Its beauty and grace
I'm sorry that I can only ever
be in one place.
Loved your mountain, Retta, your imagery was fantastic, I felt like I was looking at it as I read the poem. Great Job, glad you're back.

Retta,
Yes, when we approach softly the other gentle wonders of the earth about us in reverant fashion and form, she winks back at us affectionatly from her very heart.Keep etching and branding your heart to earth, great reward awaits you, yes, just around the next neck in time...

Major League ballplayer Justin Moore is kidnapped from his own ballpark and transported to a foreign land. It might take high-level international negotiations to free him. Or maybe he will take matters into his own hands.
Deputy Dave Jenkins investigates the murder of local high school principal, Jerry Egge, but this is a multi-faceted novel that deals with spiritualism, romance, friendship, and children who fall through the cracks.
