I walk among rocks They speak echo An easy language to understand They talk of storms Seasons Starlit nights I'll never see Sunrises and sunsets And the time between them They speak of things I ought to know They are wise in the ways of the world They have eons’ worth of knowledge They tell me each grain of sand within them Is a world apart yet a part Of them All right What do I know? I’m just a man Perhaps my ashes can be scattered here My spirit would not be bored Among these rocks My friends
Beautiful poem combined with a beautiful poem. Thanks for posting this.

rocks talk echo an easy language. Very mind intriguing. You have mine completely intrigued. Rocks are amazing to me but I never thought of all of everything such as the sunrises and sunsets that they had to tell. I really like this one and the picture of the rainbow. Hope
Thank You Regis.

makes me want to write my own version, i resonate so much with the place these words bring me to.
This is an eye-opening write for those who do not feel the power, history and memory contained in stone...and a reminder of our deep connection to all matter. Inspiring write...well done.
this is excellent it really describes that force of geological time & metamorphosis in nature with us on the threshold reduced to that elemental limit & the forms that possess us as we impose our shapes on them. you put so well the timeless experience it becomes in being indefinitely repeated within the limits of time through which we experience it. i really empathised with this piece saludos robin
Super duper Regis. You and I share a vision. I too look at the rocks and wonder what is melted into them. Once the lava starts to flow it destroys everthing in its path. There could be civilizations and people melted into rocks and mountains. I still feel that one day something really facinating will be found. Great perspective. G
Regis, my, Regis. Well. It stands and flows like something to be read by the late Charles Kuralt at the end of a show like the old "CBS Sunday Morning." A compliment if you didn't see that show in Canada. Lux et Veritas. ;-) Nordette
I often think the same, Regis. It's like they have absorbed ALL of life's experience, wisdom and knowlege and could explain all - if we could but listen! But they are but mute and tell their secrets to no-one but the wind. The whispers of the wind are love-messages sent with kisses from the stones! Go hug one today! Just love this, as always. A uniquely different poem for you, Regis, and a very good one, too!
The knowledge contained in nature is uncanny. I feel affected that way by water; particularly the ocean. It's mystifying. I really liked this poem, Regis. It shines in its simplicity. Good job!

Regis, I'm sitting here with goosebumps. This is as profound as I've seen you write. The ending invites this reader to absorb and invite some very deep thought, happily done. To suggest that our ashes, scattered among rocks, will provide the spirit with such beauty, such visions and such knowledge is simply stunning! This is, hands down, my very favorite of yours. Well done! katy xox.
Another truly captivating and thought provoking write, Regis. And quite honest and heartfelt. As mere men, what do we really know about the vast universe around us? Probably far less than many of us would care to admit.
WTG Regis, having a true eye for nature is obvious in your soul. Rock On

Regis, an exceptional thought-provoking piece, my friend. It is always very soothing whenever I have the opportunity to stroll around in Nature’s Wonderland, whether it’s amongst the rocks, trees or anywhere else one can journey in peaceful solitude. Thanks for sharing this treasure. Take care and be well.
This is wonderful! People don't tank the time to really see a rock. Nor do they take the time to really see a person.I loved this. Write on my friend!!
I'd like to know where those rocks are. They remind me of the rocks here in West Virginia at Cooper's Rock State Forest. It's one of my favorite places to go. Just rocks, nature, and you.
This is an intense, well thought out poem. Large rocks make me feel close to The Son of Man, because we have no idea how long they have been here. I enjoyed your perspective very much.

No speaking of ashes being sprinkled just yet, Regis...you are too young to allow that to happen at this juncture of your life...I have spoken to rocks too, the big boulder kinds down near the ocean...As always your humble servant...Ed & Rufuz
