Sometimes one has not much choice but to seek solace elsewhere; and nature's always been good for me.

Poem Artwork

Harmony In Sorrow

I got indifference
From familiar folks
So sought solace
For the sorrow in my soul
In nature’s bosom where
Petal tears
From fragrant flowers fell
Along the path
Tears of rain
From grieving ashen skies
Soothed my fevered face
Lamentations from the wind
Moaning among the rugged crags
Higher on the mountain
Reached the depths of my soul
And echoed there
In painful sympathy
And in the valley
Along the misty river
The weeping willows wept
In harmony
With me

This is how I felt when I stood on the grounds where in the 60's I was held captive. The weeping willow on the shore of Lake Winnebago, was still there, crying with me, as my emotional state became very shaky and uneasy. Nice write bro...keep it up. May the Lord Jesus bless you and yours, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. Incredible poem Regis.
I am rediscovering nature, but so fortunately for me...I am discovering it as the only frame beautiful enough in which to place the love of my life.
I wish this on you, and I see all my previous pain as just the path to this, if only we could see it coming.
You just wait.

Do you know what I mean..seriously, sometimes it seems-- a word *( a certain word) is spoken in the air.. and something takes it over and you see it Everywhere. That is a connection it seems to be-anyway, it is with me... I love this poem Reg... and I'm off to read whatelse is on your mind, at this time.... Keep it UP-UP-UP-
In nature’s bosom where

From fragrant flowers fell and where you wrote:
From grieving ashen skies
Soothed my fevered face
Lamentations from the wind
Moaning among the rugged crags
Higher on the mountain
Reached the depths of my soul

actually the rest that followed- into the Valley and the way you wrote it smaller and etc.. Just Awesome.. I enjoyed this emmensouly

Gentle Regis, sometimes it's in apparent dissonance that harmony is found, sometimes in consonance of apparent disharmony... Harmony IS always found, whenever someone or something weeps or smiles, in essence, FEELS WITH us. Extraordinarily beautiful and meaningful poem.

Dearest Regis,
You write out of the depths of your heart and in so doing touch the hearts of others with your words. I pray you find comfort where you seek it. So often people ignore the beauty around them and focus on their pain when Love calls in the quietest flutter of a butterfly wing or the shrills, warbles and tweets of the birds. Love warms with the gentle touch of sunbeams and carresses our tearful faces with the softest of breezes. I know that you don't ignore the beauty around you. It is so evident in reading your words that you appreciate and love it all. I too find respite in Nature through hard times and I am never alone.
With love and compassion for your pain...Chanti
