It's good to express your true feelings in a poetic song. It's like a bird singing and calling out for his lover. Yes, when they don't return to the nest, it is sad indeed. One day you will meet someone who will literally knock your socks off. Pray about it my friend. She is closer than you think. Yes my friend, she is only one prayer away.

I don't usually comment on my own "stuff" but I must respond to Ed. I HAVE a life (I just became a grandfather). I have sweet friends (mostly women) who care and maybe I am not as attentive to them as I ought to be. I am certainly not "bitchin'." I love her. She asked me to. I suppose I would "let her go" if she told me to. I guess that's love, at least in my books. But thank you for your concern and well-intentioned advice, Ed. Love and peace to you and to all.

Having spent many years alone, spurned by more than one, you have to learn to love yourself more than placing all of your love where it doesn't bear fruit. As soon as you do that and forget all the hurt, others will flock to you for your encouragement and positive attitude. Trust me, it works.

In response to your request: There is nothing simple about love, Regis... But there is a child-like quality here in your piece; simply decorated with chasteness, with a deep sense of melancholy permeating the subtext.
