I have spent over two hours trying to copy my "stuff" from Microsoft Word into here. I've tried three different browsers. The results are not at all what I wish. I have never been so frustrated. AD has always been a pain but this is the worst ever. Everywhere else, one just "copies and pastes" in one easy click. And yes, I did allow pop-ups and followed all instructions. Frankly, I am disgusted. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I had difficulties posting before but, nothing like this.

Let me introduce to you my first and only grandchild, Oliver...

Poem Artwork

More Tales from the Mind of Moi

Oliver’s First Guitar

Oliver’s received his first guitar,

It’s neither a lute nor a sitar;

He really enjoys it,

And if he doesn’t quit,

He could be a future rock star.

A Would-Be Rapper

There once was a would-be rapper,

Who slipped on a candy wrapper;

He went head over heels,

Did a few cartwheels,

And wound up head first in the crapper.

Rapunzel

Rapunzel was locked in a tower,

She was sad like a wilting flower;

When I found this out,

I knew without doubt,

That to save her was within my power.

Tinkerbelle

I once met a gal named Tinkerbelle,

A pretty lass with whom in love I fell;

She was eccentric,

She could do magic,

But Tinkerbelle was really quite swell.

Isabelle

Isabelle is a belle from Carmel,

It is said that she can cast a spell;

Whether angel or witch,

I do not care which,

Isabelle from Carmel is a belle.

A Farmer from Moscow

There once was a farmer from Moscow,

Who had a most peculiar cow;

It could speak English,

With an accent, British,

And no one knew how she knew how.

Oliver

Oliver, my grandson, is a very sweet lad,

His mother, in fine attire always has him clad;

With his golden curls,

He charms all the girls,

And his winsome smile makes everyone glad.

A Girl from Shanghai

I once met a girl in Shanghai,

Who had a tattoo on her thigh;

Upon close inspection,

It gave direction,

To the home of this girl from Shanghai.

A Rocket Scientist

I met a rocket scientist,

Who said that she’s never been kissed;

I said, “That’s a shame,

But if you are game,

I shall add you to my bucket list.”

A Man Named Regis

A man in this town named Regis,

Composes limericks just to please us;

While he does his best,

To compose with zest,

He does not claim to be an aegis.

Brought some smiles to my face with these interesting quirky lyrics. I can see why you have an inspiration in your grandson Oliver. You must be very proud.

I would caution you not to use the word, "gal," when referring to any black woman. It is highly derogatory to them after being treated like property and abused when they were slaves.

AS EXPECTED, VERY MUCH ENJOYED...'CAUSE YOU ARE THE VERY BEST! THANKS FOR SHARING. REGIS, I CAN RELATE TO YOUR FRUSTRATION IN POSTING ON AD AND I'M GOING TO LEAVE IT AT THAT BECAUSE THE TERRIBLE MEMORIES ARE REALLY TOO MUCH ON THIS WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING DAY. Regis....Once again you have hit a homerun....This time with "More Tales From The Mind Of Moi"....My friend, you are exceptional....

Regis....I too had run into an online problem....I wanted to print a copy of my "Sunrise Roses" from KDP / Amazon....And of course trying to use Word, I ran into an assortment of problems....Especially losing "Sunrise Roses" which at some point I will have to redo....I also ended up on the phone with both Microsoft and Amazon discussing what could remedy my problem....But by then it was too late....But I will be prepared next time around....

Reg, these limericks are adorable as always. For some reason, I've always sucked at them. I admire your talent and humor!

I also sympathize with your copy-paste problem. Here is how you do it.

To copy: take your mouse and highlight the text. Then do CTRL C. (HOLD DOWN CTRL THEN HIT C)

To paste: CTRL V (HOLD DOWN CTRL, THEN HIT V) The text will paste into your page.

AD could use a thorough overhaul in my opinion as it's as dreary and outdated looking as it was when I joined in 2004. If I write a blog, I can't insert photos and no one can comment.

However, it does get significant traffic. If you check your stats, you'd probably be shocked at how many times someone has clicked onto one of your writes since you joined.

Love you!

I have had your dilemma Regis, but only when working from my work computer. so I usually send a copy from here to my home computer and post from there..sorry that won't work for you. I relly enjoyed these.

A man named Regis had troubles.
Trying to post had him swearing doubles.
He wanted in all do haste,
to be able to copy and paste,
but now sits and grumbles.

Sorry Regis, I couldn't resist, but as usual, I enjoyed your limericks. Good luck on your next posting. I have always found AD to be very user friendly.

Always get a kick out of your limericks, Regis.

RE: Your posting problems...Copy & paste from a Word Doc. has always worked for me. Even when I posted the two poems in "Oh, to be Rich and Famous". Can't think of any magic formula I use. May be just the luck of the Irish...sorry.

Your formatting looks great, Regis. I wish we could just upload a PDF and be done with it. That way, we could lock in our formatting. It's so important in poetry. I enjoyed immensely your posting today, very creative and inventing.
