Erosion

Time erodes all

Like a river erodes its banks

Changes its course

With the melting of the snows

And the pelting of the rains

Genuine and true love

Like a diamond

Like a rare and precious gem

Should never erode

Never fade

But

Genuine and true love

Is rare in this world

In this fleeting life

Wave good-bye

As it passes by

Maybe

It was not meant to be

My love is not ephemeral

Is yours?

I'm not an expert on love, but true love shouldn't erode with time. But few of us are lucky enough to experience it.

All things change beginning with the universe. Whether we change along with it is a question needs to be answered.

Much food for thought.

I believe that true love begins as a bright new shimmering stone and over time the waves pummel shape, creating a stone whose light is warmer and softer. Erosion? No. Not if it's meant to last. I love this piece Reg.

True love shared is exquisite and precious, born of hope and light. But true love unshared exists most commonly and is found in the very hollows of despair. O that we should all find our light!

True love does not erode through the test of time. It stays in our hearts forever.

Ah, agree with you dear poet. The only two things that are worth spending properly are time and love. You say it so poetically, it endear me to your verse. Have a blessed day, Beautiful poet.
