*At the Waning of the Year 2022* *(A “haiku” string)* *Another day gone* *I wish time would take a break* *And let moments last* *There is no promise* *Tomorrow may never come* *Live in the moment* *Gifts under the tree* *Pinecones for hungry squirrels* *And other wild things* *Holidays for some* *Anything but beautiful* *For those so in need* *At this time of year* *A gathering from afar* Is par for the course Making memories *Is quite inevitable* *As loved ones gather* *As the old year wanes* *Wishes for the coming year* *Arise from within* © Regis Auffray

�Anything but beautiful/For those so in need�. - - - That reaches out from this writing with its stark truth. I�m glad you included it, for it put a heart stone in the center of the 7 pieces. I like that there are three celebratory haiku on top and bottom of #4, with more light than dark for this time and year. Your haiku here and in other posts are maximum reading enjoyment, Regis*.
