Sometimes, not a lot makes sense...

Poem Artwork

I have no clue
where I’m going
Picked up by an adolescent zephyr
on a spree
somewhere between dawn and dusk
on a sultry summer’s day
in a freak whirlwind
of dust and debris
leaves
candy wrappers
and my soul
past an open church door
where I hear the choir roar
“…Amen brothah,
you have the powah!
Amen sistah,
you have the powah!
Hallelujah brothah!
Hallelujah sistah…!
But it seems I sold my power
to a whim of the wind
Twirling
whirling
I have no clue
where I’m going

Sometimes I just let a whirlwind take me away, to where it will, it's not silly, either, mostly I lead a very serious life, and take my time about things, but where I'm going from there also, I've no clue. I like this poem and it make some sense to me, can relate.

You only stepped away to know yourself without interference. Perhaps the zephyr was just so excellent, too. I feel the breeziness as I read this one...it is depicting of great change, it seems.

Regis,
this poem reminds me when I experience writer's block. It can be very frustrating being totally clueless.

Your words echo of my life. Sometimes, instead of whirlwind, I feel trapped on a long, dark road. Where am I going, and will I ever get there? Maybe all I need is to be picked up off the ground, at least once and taken closer to where I want to go.

Great poem. :)

A wonderful example of the journey into the unknown, Regis. We take one day at a time, wondering what our purpose truly is. The lucky ones know. Most of us ponder this question our whole lives. While life seems to breeze by, we hope we are not missing a sign. A thought provoking piece:) Sheila

"whim".. Regis, I do believe there is magic in that word.. Oh, yes.. DO let the wind nudge you along, for it's there, in the wind, that secrets and meanings are whispered.. If we don't remain open, we miss so much! I just love this poem! katy xox.

And sometimes being caught up in a wind and not knowing where you'll land is a good thing. Rather than being struck into stone, we have such potential - to land in a new world and open our hearts to all we see around us. Thanks for sharing this, it's very powerful.

A worth asking. But some will lock themselves inside that choir singing their songs of praise, and never experience the wind. Life is there to be experienced. That's how it was intended, and sometimes the whrilwind will take us places we hadn't expected.

Excellent write.

hmmmmmmmm....

Well, you be sure to tell me where that whirl takes you. Should be someplace interesting, or at least worthwhile.

Quite a delightful write we have here, indeed.

'Tis quite important to be blown by a churchdoor every once in a while, I think. To be reminded of our power. But, following the whim of the wind could be equally as empowering and enlightening as well.

Shmaybe if'n the wind blows you past my door someday, which I think highly likely, I might tell you what we might be able to do about what my (our) eyes have seen.

Until then, just know that you're already doing it.

Love and Light-
-C.S.

"I'm in a whirl of a world". This composition speaks for all it was intended. A very sensitive subject to be dealt... That is how it was conceived.

I really enjoyed the artistic of it.
