In the true sense of the word, this is not haiku because it does not refer to the seasons; or does it? What about seasons of the soul?

Poem Artwork

God I am alone
In the midst of all this mob
I cannot find you

God I cannot cry
Enough tears to wash away
This pain in my soul

God I think I’m lost
In the forest of my fears
I can’t find the path

God I am weary
Of pretending I am fine
When I die within

God I am unsure
Of all that I used to know
Nothing is certain

God I am fearful
Of what is hiding behind
Each coming moment

God I am hiding
In the dark where it is safe
From revealing light

God I’m still breathing
Thus I must still be alive
In the midst of death

God I am waiting
For the angel in her love
To summon me forth

God she shall take me
From this place of constant fear
To eternal hope

Questions abound in this write, but it is free flowing and truthful and at last you will see the light when that Heavenly Angel takes you to God and he says I AM, Then you will really be glad you believed on him here on earth. Fantastic verses here.

Regis, this is a wonderful and heartfelt poem. So true! Remember, the loss of certainty can be the beginning of new discovery. We discover ourselves at these moments, and, I have found, suddenly find God has not left us alone.

Be strong, stand for love and yuor heart. That is the only way to walk the path.

What a prayer, Regis!
The first thing that comes to my mind, is that God has promised to be found of those who sincerely seek Him. If this is the cry of your own heart, I trust that you truly will meet with God, and discover that He cares, and is ready to forgive and receive you as His own child.

From personal experience, I can add that intimacy and pleasant fellowship with the Lord God IS possible. I treasure it more than anything else!

I think I'll print this out and paste it on my notice board....!!!!

YES Regis..I am weary..so many of us are..BUT to live is to be in some form of pain..I can only wish you the following...
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you
enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep
your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life
appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish
you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish enough "Hello's"
to get you through the final "Good-bye."

Perhaps I have gone overboard..but I think you get what I mean..:)
Thankyou sooo much for such an exquisite write!

Vesna :)

Regis, that was beautiful. Thanks for writing it. I find publishers don't like that kind of truth, but it's the poets obligation to write it. All my poetry is like that. I think that's why I get rejected so much, but let's keep writing our deepest darkest feelings. Then we release them so they are free and in return, so are we:)

Well, it isn't technically haiku in the Japanese sense of what a haiku is -- not to my knowledge anyway. It is very well done, though, and I don't know why you can't make your forms of poetry. You need to lighten up, mon vieux. "Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone." There's a lot of truth in that quote.

"God I am..." No matter what anyone will call this form, it is poetry.

This poem is a Paean to Freedom through Justice. It has all the structure to be recited as a "CANTATA"... I suggest that a music be written for it... (That a musician writes – the music – that is already in it!)

"God I am..." This is a poem to be recited by heart!

Hi Regis,
You surely was in a deep space and soul searching mood when you wrote this poem. Many people are afraid to put their feelings and fears into words, but it is good that you are not. I can somewhat, but not entirely relate to what you was trying to express. I Thank God,that I don't think I have been so shadowed that I couldn't see the light ahead. I think you will find that light that leads to God with out the doubt and fear and your faith will push you to achieve all your dreams. Keep sharing those feelings. They are great for people to reflect upon. Words of the heart are unbeatable. Keep up the good work.
Blessings,
Judith

Well Regis, if ever anyone captured the phase of aloneness and uncertainty, you nailed it dead center my brotha. Those of us who don't let the insanity sink in and take over are more than conquerers, as for me, thru Christ Jesus. And the quest for peace begins with each new day. All we need to do is believe that peace is near when it seems so far away.

Thanks for this revelation in muse,

Well, I don't measure a poet by the "type" of poetry he or she writes. To me, a poet writes from the heart and mind: impossible one without the other. This is poetry, Regis: well written, full of emotion of your spirit within. If this is what you feel, then I pray you find your way to the peace and happiness I feel. Love in Christ~~ Bonnie Q
