Rozzy, I am as light as you are dark, but I think I have a problem--I'm kind of color-blind!
I'm interested in people who are different races than I am, though. If we got to know each other, I might try to find out in what ways your views and your culture are different from mine. I think I learn even from the things I read on AD by various authors.
We're all kinds here, that's a fact! I enjoyed this challenging poem.

Rozzy, this is wonderful message!!! Unfortunately...much as we think that there are many good people in this world, there are also some racist pigs around. It's sad when people don't see past the skin colors.

We are so alike under our skin. If only more people could realize that. It always catches me off guard when people ask if I am my children's mother...(I have 7 children from Haiti, and I am a very pale Cauc.) I guess I expect them to see the ties that bind us together. While I know that we are different colors, the color of each of my children is just a tiny tiny part of them and is not what makes them who they are... I don't notice that they are black and that I am white until I look through others' eyes.

I too pray for this...and I realize that it's just still difficult for many...too much from past generations instilled in many of us...I know from experience...and it's taken me far too long to shed the onion skin...but now like when I found Jesus...I have found the way...and it's wonderful...I've spent far too many years not knowing beautiful people because of generational teachings....there does come a time to let it go and relish the new and beautiful friendships that are out there!!! Ironically, it seems that I always end up with a best friend over my lifetime that is not of my own race...and I wonder why that is?
