Where I grew up There weren't many trees Where there was we'd tear them down And use them on our enemies Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do. Jesus in the song you wrote The words are sticking in my throat Peace on Earth Imagine no possessions No need for greed or hunger A Brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people Sharing all the world Hear it every Christmas time But hope and history won't rhyme So what's it worth This Peace on Earth You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us Peace on Earth Peace on Earth Peace on Earth And the world will live as one ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "we seek" we seek. we hope . we weep. we wonder why ? how? when ? -- or sadly, if -- we will ever just learn. micha julian 2002 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just wanted to see these two songs juxtaposed, especially now-- it... I just wanted to explore these two poets' (U2's Bono & John Lennon) words here, together, somehow... And, yes, I added a small cinquain/ afterthought/feeling...and, well, I just thank you for indulging me, truly--the idea has been haunting my mind and had to come out... And now, a New Year...Let us hope and pray and care and love... And may Peace somehow find its way... for all those who 'serve', 'suffer', 'wait', 'long' and so much need its grace... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

:) Silly, lovely soul, this was great!! John Lennon, now there was a man with human visions, and human weaknesses, Bono I am not as familiar with but the "feel" to this piece is one of longing, longing and, in a strange way, peace...
