Learning/living/feeling/caring... a small etching -- prose/poem of sorts... for a friend ~~~~~~~~~~~~
I look at you. You are one breathing leaf, green and alive. My eyes follow you. I watch your every swaying, nearly imperceptible turn. I see you slowly turn toward me, then slowly twist away as my eyes follow your every whispering movement in this gentle breeze, today.
I see that you are just a little different from the others, more musical, perhaps. You almost dance on the edge of that branch and you seem somehow unique ... yet there you are, among many, one leaf.
I look closer and you seem to know my eyes are there, gazing at you in quiet wonder.
I feel a slight shiver as I timidly reach up and ever so gently almost touch your closest, sunlit star-like edge.
I don't want to disturb the soft quiet turns as you move carefully -- yet more boldly than I would ever dream of -- swaying on this small tree.
In the breeze, another turn, another reaching for your dream of moments full of lives returned, lives made holy, lives made full. Caring.
And in this moment, I dream.
I feel your music easing through my softened spirit, and I stay, for once not running away.
No words I know can express my feelings about this poem.
A very long breath, exhaled perhaps.
