My Heart Bleeds

My heart bleeds,
Can't you see what you do to me?
Just the look in your eyes
Leaves my heart a gaping whole.

My heart aches wanting to be rid
of the agony you cause it.
The crazy times that you
Seem to loose your mind and
You move in for the attack.

I try to find an escape inside
To save my heart one moment of pain.
But your words find me,
They give me no reprieve.
They hunt me down for the slaughter
Needing to finish the kill.

There is no fleeing,
I keep awaiting the death blow.
My hearts a prisoner from fear,
I love you, but with a bleeding heart.

The "I Love You," at the end of this sounds like a thickly masked Identification with the aggressor. What feeling is it that is called love here, being projected towards someone who would squash the speaker like a bug???

Stabbing Pencey Boudreaux by Mary Lynn Plaisance

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
