I wish I could say I got the idea specifcally from watching a child at play (it was a TV commercial), but is there a little boy alive (no matter what his age) who hasn't donned bath towel and swim goggles to defend the universe from evil?

The superhero's day

He rose like a champion

and surveyed the land,

Brave and strong,

with a hawklike glance.

Resplendent in a bath towel cape,

immune to bullets, bombs

dirty hands or icky girls.

Faster than a speeding bullet,

more powerful than a toy train,

able to leap the front yard hedge

in a single bound.

He flies through the front yard,

then the back, avenging evil,

keeping the bad guys at bay.

The Joker, the Riddler, the Penquin

should just stay in Gotham today.

But the bad guys still run amok,

and must be checked by the short-haired

hero in a t-shirt and goggles,

Or will the villains just wait

until the time is right?

Like when our hero has to

go inside for lunch?
